Heyington Place – at the northernmost tip of Toorak – is one of Melbourne’s most sought-after addresses. Oak, elm and plane trees line the street, while a rail bridge connects Toorak to more than 40 kilometres of Yarra parklands and trails. It’s here, in this inner-city haven, that developer Sterling Global has chosen to create 12 new residences dubbed Heyington.

Designed by Carr Architects with gardens by Acre, the house-sized apartments will have private gardens or terraces below canopy trees. All the dwellings will have three bedrooms with some enjoying second living areas or studies, making them ideal for families and downsizers. Carr’s director of architecture, Chris McCue, says flexibility is part of the plan. “Heyington’s apartment living is not about compromise; it is about elevated living,” he says. Portuguese limestone columns will create a creamy gold, four-storey facade to the dozen homes, nestled in Acre’s seasonal shrubbery. There’s a variety of floor plans, including two spectacular penthouses, both with city views and private garages. The apartment interiors cover from 189 to 323 square metres. Outdoor areas are 15 to 241 square metres.

“Heyington is all about genuinely house-sized apartments, quite indulgently fitted out, in the inner east’s most exclusive precinct,” says selling agent Damon Krongold, of Kay & Burton. “Heyington will appeal to people who have contemporary taste and want the convenience of a secure building in a beautiful location.”

Light, bright and airy, Heyington’s apartments will have expansive open-plan living and dining with oak parquetry, bespoke television units and 1.5-metre fireplaces. Kitchens feature limestone benches, butler’s pantries and Gaggenau appliances. The integrated fridge-freezers are by Liebherr. Each apartment’s main bedroom will have a twin en suite with a freestanding bath, walk-in shower and slab-heated floor.

Prices range from $3.295 to $5.77 million. A completed apartment can be inspected by appointment.
